Gymnastics, How Is It That These Great Gymnasts Are Able To Do What They Do With Such Perfection?. And these great athletes leave us in awe every time we look at them perform, as well they make us question the abilities of the human body as to what could be achieved with discipline. And we know that these gymnasts do give up a lot at a very early age in life, and often have suffered many broken bones on their way to being able to do all these great acrobatic moves.

To begin with, Gymnastics in the world are governed by the ( F. I. G. ) Federation Internationale DE Gymnastique or International Federation Of Gymnastic. And as spectators and supporters of this great sports, we are most drawn to: Competitive Artistic Gymnastics. And to the world this is the best known aspect of the gymnastics sport. And on this side of it we see such exercises like: Uneven parallel bars, the balance beam, the floor exercises, the vault, the pommel horse, still rings, parallel bars and high bars.
Gymnastics demand that the athletes who perform them have 5 great characteristics, such as:
Physical strength:
because one must possess great physical strength or at the very least be able to easily pick up one's own body weight and fling the body up in the air. Or be able to to hold the body up with just one arm.
Flexibility: You must be able to contort your body into so many positions, and make it all look natural and effortless. Your body must be accustomed to pain, and you must also master the art of " Mind over Matter ".
Agility: You must be as agile as a bird, or even better, by being able to perform like a Swan. You have to be majestic, smooth and move effortlessly. You must be light on your feet.
Coordination:
Well, all your body parts have to move as one perfectly well oiled machine. Like a new Mercedes that is made to grip the road, and yet moves with virtually no sound. You have to be in constant unison with your mind, body and soul.
Balance: You have to be able to stand on one toe, or move your whole body with just one body part and not fall. You have to make it all look easy, and yet still outperform the other competitors to win that gold medal or the world championship.
Gymnastics and the great gymnasts who perform this sport leave much to be admired by us. And we do so honor them once they become champions or gold medalists. For example, we honored greatly Ms. Mary Lou Retton who was our first U. S. Olympic All - Around - Gymnast. We also have Ms. Nadia Comaneci, the first perfect 10.0 with 5 Olympic Gold Medals. So as you can see they do great, almost impossible things and we love them for it.
Gymnastics, How Is It That These Great Gymnasts Are Able To Do What They Do With Such Perfection?. But for all the great things the gymnasts do, there are many great prices paid by those athletes. And one such price paid is stunted growth, because gymnasts usually are very muscular and powerful yet usually of short stature. And it has been argued that this is due to the selection made by the Coaches at a young age to select small frame and short ligament athletes, because tall gymnasts usually have a hard time performing perfectly all the moves required by gymnastics. Another reasoning has to do with low body fat when those athletes were young and even at an older age. And low body fat at a young age can delay growth and puberty, because the body realizes it has no extra fat storage and so it protects itself and hold back growth.

So dear friend, these great gymnasts are able to do what they do because of long term commitments. And great dedication from their parents at a young age and then from themselves as they come of age. As well they ignore pain and live a life of great discipline and a constant goal oriented lifestyle. They also give up many of the pleasures that we have come to be accustomed to, and they rarely enjoy many of life vices. So I say " Bravo " to the world great gymnasts and to the sports of gymnastics. And You Yourself have witnessed, watching Gymnastic Events, that playing Sports with Friends and Loved Ones is definitely the answer to having something bigger than You, since others need You and Your Efforts in Life.
